Welcome to Valley Cat Rescue Project!
Over 200,000 cats are estimated to be living as strays or abandoned pets in Australia. These felines face uncertain futures.
The Valley Cat Rescue Project is a small (but growing!) group of local volunteers dedicated to providing these forgotten cats with a second chance at life in a loving home. We operate in the Cessnock area of the Hunter Valley, NSW.
What we do
Rescue & Rehabilitation
Unfortunately, we are well versed in the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and feral kittens and cats from managed colonies in the Hunter Valley. While we work at trapping and desexing these animals (as time and funds allow); our dedicated team works daily to provide medical care, nourishment to them from a distance. With compassion, perseverance and a whole lot of patience, we strive to give every cat a chance at a healthy and happy life indoors.
Rehoming
Our commitment extends beyond rescue to finding loving forever homes for our feline friends. We carefully match cats with adopters to ensure a harmonious and lasting companionship. Education
Education is a crucial aspect of our mission. We actively engage with the community to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying/neutering, and understanding feline behavior. By sharing our knowledge, we hope to create a more compassionate and informed society, ultimately contributing to the well-being of all cats.
Assisted rehoming
Life circumstances can change, and sometimes families face the difficult decision of rehoming their beloved pets. We offer assisted rehoming services, providing a compassionate and supportive solution for both the cat and the owner. Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible, ensuring that each cat finds a suitable, caring home.
